Hi folks, it's your erstwhile maintainer here. I'm not sure whether anyone is still reading this community, but I wanted to let everyone know that because of issues with LiveJournal involving ownership and content, about which you may have read in the news, this community is being imported in its entirety to Dreamwidth. The comm on LiveJournal will continue to exist for as long as possible, but I wanted to give people a heads-up because all entries posted at LiveJournal now appear at Dreamwidth under the OpenID of the original poster. You can claim your OpenID and link it to your Dreamwidth account, or, if you object to your entries being on Dreamwidth (which is far more protective of you and your content than LiveJournal has ever been), you can have your posts removed.

Unfortunately there was no way to import selectively; it was the entire comm or nothing to prevent stories from disappearing forever if there's a LiveJournal crackdown. I'm sorry if this inconveniences anyone. Protecting the community and its content was the primary concern. Please feel free to join the community at Dreamwidth, which is called Slyther_In because the username here was already taken.

This is something of a shameless (*blush*) promo for a new awards comm that I hope you will all be willing to get involved in!

The New Library Awards is dedicated to awarding new and underappreciated authors in all ships. That means that to keep things from getting biased toward one big ship or another, we need your help. All that's need are three nominations for a certain pairing (oh, say, snape/lucius?) in a category (information about categories, how to nominate and vote, etc., can be found on the award site's user info) and that will get a category all on its own! So, if you want to see a 'best ss/lm humour' or a 'best ss/lm romance' category, come on over and nominate! I would love to see a strong slash contingent in these awards, but I can't possibly read everything myself, so please join and represent ss/lm in the awards!

Writers can nominate themselves, too, so if you're fairly new to this game or feel like your writings don't get much attention, please come join in the awards! (You can also post recommendations at our sister site, The New Library!)

I have created a new community, for those who believe they are Slytherin and for those who are avid admirers of one or more members of the Slytherin house! I made it the other day because the Slytherin communities I've stumbled across seem to be a bit dead.. It is not a rating community, for the sorting hat is heavily influenced by what House one desires to be in. =] I want to revive the House of Slytherin!

It's pretty much anything goes, RPGS, Fan fiction, Slash fiction, artwork, rants, comments, questions... as long as it relates to the Slytherin house in one way or another. =] Hopefully once lots of people have joined competitions can be hosted, friends can be made, and dress-up meet-ups can be arranged!
